Superdome “Rebirth”

The Louisiana Superdome, as we all witnessed, served as more than a football stadium for the people of New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. Let’s just say, the Dome has seen better days after the last evacuee departed. It lay desolate and dilapidated for months waiting for reconstruction. It finally came in August 2006. Crystal Clear Imaging was given the honor to be part this massive endeavor.

While we ourselves were still in the process of recovering from the aftermath of Katrina, we took on this challenge with vigor and conviction. For six weeks, we toiled day and night to produce and install everything from wall murals, backlits, field treatments, suite signs, wayfinding signs, pole banners, security vehicle wraps, etch marks, designing and completely reconstructing the Patron Saint Partner Suite to producing the Essence of New Orleans Photo Exhibit. It was by the far the most challenging project for us not just for the enormity of the task, but because it represented the recovery of the city. Everything was completed for the New Orleans Saints’ homecoming game against the Atlanta Falcons on September 25, 2006.

It was the most memorable game in Saints’ history. When the clock hit zero, there was no dry eyes in the stadium. The Saints won, the Dome won, the people of New Orleans won. That day marked the rebirth of our city and the declaration of survival.
